Integrated ocular surface diagnostics

About OSDx®

OSDx is a compact, clinician-focused dry eye diagnostic platform that brings complementary ocular-surface imaging and measurement tools together in one instrument. It is designed to provide rapid, objective and reproducible information for routine clinical assessment as well as research.

ObjectiveQuantitative measurements support consistent interpretation and reduce observer variability.
Rapid & non-contactMultiple examinations can be performed within minutes, with comfortable non-contact imaging for most assessments.
Research readyConfigurable imaging and analysis parameters support longitudinal follow-up and investigator-led studies.

One platform, multiple views of dry eye disease

Dry eye disease is multifactorial. OSDx combines structural, functional and tear-film assessments so that the clinician can evaluate several important contributors to ocular-surface dysfunction rather than relying on a single measurement.

Lipimetry

Quantitative assessment of tear-film lipid layer thickness using white-light interferometry, with live imaging and objective grading.

Infrared meibography

High-resolution infrared imaging of the meibomian glands, including gland-loss assessment and morphology-related measurements.

Tear meniscometry

Objective, non-contact assessment of the lower tear meniscus to provide information about tear volume.

Blink analysis

Automated evaluation of blink behaviour, including blink frequency, completeness and timing-related statistics.

Dye-based ocular-surface tests

Imaging with fluorescein, lissamine and Rose Bengal, with quantitative analysis tools for tear break-up, staining and tear clearance.

Lid-margin imaging

High-resolution documentation of the lid margin, including features of blepharitis and meibomian gland openings.

Pupillometry

Measurement of pupil diameter under different illumination conditions together with parameters describing the response to a light stimulus.

Additional imaging & analysis

The OSDx platform also supports specialised imaging and analysis workflows intended to extend clinical documentation and research capability.

Designed around clinical workflow

OSDx was conceived as a practical ophthalmic platform: compact enough for routine use, yet sufficiently configurable for detailed ocular-surface assessment.

1

Clinician-led

Built around real examination workflows and clinically relevant measurements.

2

Science-first

Uses established optical and imaging principles with quantitative digital analysis.

3

Integrated

Brings several dry-eye assessments into a single examination environment.

4

Accessible by design

Developed to simplify and miniaturise ophthalmic technology for wider practical use.

About DoubleHelix Enterprises LLP
